Job Overview

Do you really have a passion for helping vulnerable folks to change their lives?

We have a variety of possibilities for Recovery Workers to work in our Westminster Move On and Resettlement Service. We seek driven self-starters, who will operate in a non-judgemental style and develop deep trustworthy relationships with our clients. This is part of the Westminster’s Rough Sleepers Pathway and the role involves:

We visit our clients regularly at 8 different houses in the northern part of the Borough.

Work with clients to identify strengths and encourage them to prepare for independent living.

Contributing to the creation and maintenance of a supportive safe environment for clients with complex needs including mental health, substance use, alcohol use and complex traumas.

The employment is generally Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with one weekend a month to work (Bank Holidays are included in work rota).

1 x Permanent Contract

2 x Fixed Term Contracts (6 months and 9 months)

Please note candidates will be asked what type of contract they want during interview, however they may be offered any of the opportunities available.


About yourself

We believe in lived experience and are seeking passionate, dedicated people that can draw on their own lived experience to provide encouraging, empathic and consistent support to vulnerable people.

This role would suit someone with a personal experience of homelessness, mental health concerns and suffering and may have used homelessness, mental health, criminal justice; alcohol use, substance use and/or recovery programs.

Understanding and experience of mental health models e.g Person Centred Approach, Open Dialogue.

Good communication, persuasive and reasoning abilities. Ability to network and develop productive relationships with a range of different people.

Good organisational abilities, problem solving skills and the ability to manage your workload and priorities properly.

This position will be considered for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have existing and ongoing right to work in UK for the length of employment.
