There is a wonderful opportunity to join the team on ward 21 at the Queen Elizabeth hospital Gateshead this is a 30 bedded Trauma and Orthopeadic ward.
As a help Worker you will work directly with individuals, giving care to enable them to accomplish activities of daily living in Hospital / Home / Care setting with help from a Multi-Disciplinary team of nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers and doctors.
Offers a variety of assigned clinical care tasks in hospital, community and other settings
Notes patient observations and changes in clinical state
Performs limited clinical care responsibilities
Key tasks of the role
Everyone is different but the list below highlights some of the practical tasks that the post holder will do, help individuals to do and allow people with:
· Using suitable assessment instruments under supervision to assist the registered practitioner in assessing patients’ health and wellbeing requirements. Start emergency action as necessary e.g. cardiac arrest, fire
o Identify/contribute to their own aims to better their quality of life
· Participate in clinical skills as trained in accordance to role e.g. recording ECG’s
o To be involved in their own care/support/recovery plans.
o Support people to voice their needs and wishes Help with their personal hygiene and physical health.
o Be actively involved in health promotion
o Do something fun and meaningful
· To assist people with outside activities/appointments under indirect supervision
· May be responsible for patient monies/valuables to be dealt with in accordance with GHFT rules
o Help people with activities of daily living, promoting active engagement and independence.

Be able to undertake a variety of practical tasks and duties to support the Team and individual requirements.
