Summary of the Job
The ICT Infrastructure and Development Manager is a senior member of the IM&T management team. They are in charge of directing and growing the organization’s ICT Infrastructure and ICT Development operations. The job is in charge of designing, delivering, securing, and constantly improving the Trust’s essential digital services. This makes sure that the Trust’s technology environment is strong, scalable, and consistent with the organization’s goals.
The person in this position works out of the Oakwood Building and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer. They are in charge of improving the Trust’s digital capabilities and making sure that all departments provide high-quality service.
This job leads technical teams and pushes for new ideas in areas including cloud services, server and network architecture, directory services, and development projects. The job demands someone who can mix operational control with strategic planning to make sure that infrastructure and development operations satisfy security, performance, and governance standards.
The person in this position is part of the larger IM&T leadership group and helps make decisions, improve services, and keep making digital services better to support personnel, service users, and the organization’s goals.
The main tasks of the job
Plan, build, and keep up the organization’s server, virtualisation, network, and data center infrastructure, making sure it is safe, reliable, and always available.
Manage important directory and identity services like Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, VDI platforms, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, and group policies.
Manage data security, protection, and recovery, which includes backups, monitoring, asset management, firewall management, and protection against cyber security threats.
Oversee the delivery, support, and ongoing improvement of end-user computing, software deployment, and enterprise management tools on desktops, laptops, and servers.
Plan, set priorities, and run technical operations including system maintenance, fault investigation, service performance monitoring, and IM&T development workflows.
Make and keep track of budgets, making sure that resources are used effectively across infrastructure and development programs.
Give stakeholders competent technical advice, be the main point of contact with suppliers, help with big projects, and make sure that complex technical material is easy to understand across the Trust.
Manage and help workers, making sure they learn new skills, do their jobs well, follow all IM&T standards and policies, and keep an eye on the quality of technical procedures.

Essential Criteria

Proof of knowledge gained through applicable professional training courses, such as Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Active Directory, and other Microsoft certifications.
Proof of experience working in an IT technical setting, including a broad understanding of installing, configuring, and supporting network gear and software, as well as networking technologies
Ability to figure out and create the change-management processes that will get the most out of the Trust’s IT investments.
Able to properly set priorities for yourself and your team so that you can fulfil deadlines and deal with client requests that are at odds with each other.
Knowledge and experience with Windows Server OS
Knowledge and experience with setting up and managing Microsoft Active Directory
Knowledge and experience in setting up and keeping Exchange, Teams, and OneDrive are all part of Microsoft 365.
Experience with testing network gear and software to see if they can be used in the infrastructure
Ability to work independently, choose your own priorities, and fulfil deadlines.
Proof of ongoing professional growth to gain specialised IT expertise through applicable specialist training courses, such as network technology and business contingency planning.
