We are hiring prison guards to cover openings at HMP Leeds in the future, in addition to officers who are currently needed. We are recruiting under this special futures scheme, which promises you a prison officer post at HMP Leeds permanently, but during the first 23 months of service, you will work at HMP Whitemoor. This is because we need officers to fill vacancies at other prisons.

Qualifications
In order to work as a prison guard, you must:

Everyone undergoing prison officer training must have a satisfactory standard of hearing (without the use of hearing aids) for safety reasons.
Although visible tattoos are acceptable, they cannot be considered in any manner offensive, discriminatory, violent, or intimidating. Generally speaking, facial tattoos are unacceptable unless they are necessary for cultural, religious, or medicinal reasons.
You must have lived in the UK for the previous three years in order to work in a high security prison (Category A).
Journey to Work
Since some prisons are located in remote areas with few public transportation choices, having a driver’s license and own vehicle is advantageous but not necessary for the position (unless otherwise noted).
