Responsibilities

Make frequent site visits and inspections to review the quality of service.

Ensure that security personnel are aware of and adhere to client specific instructions and business protocols.

Manage and resolve operational problems, incidents and complaints from clients.

Regularly communicate with clients and respond to their operational needs.

Maintain appropriate workforce numbers for existing and new contracts.

Help in the recruitment, induction, training and development of security staff.

Check the required qualifications, licences and training requirements.

Prepare operational reports on staffing, performance, incidents and client issues for the Director.

Identify operational risks and propose recommendations for improvements to the delivery of security services.

Assist the Director with operational planning and mobilising new contracts.

Purpose of the Role

BRIGHTER FACES BREL Facades is recruiting an Estimating Assistant to assist in the production of cost estimates, tender submissions and commercial offers for facade rehabilitation and building projects.

The role will include supporting the estimating team during the tender process from receipt of inquiry and assessment of tender material through to quantity take offs, supplier enquiries, pricing analysis and final submission preparation.

This is a hands-on role requiring regular liaison with suppliers, subcontractors, the procurement team, quantity surveyors, design managers and operational staff. The chosen candidate will be expected to take responsibility of given estimating activities, to ensure accurate, timely and effectively presented tender information is provided to support business growth and project success.

The successful candidate will help prepare accurate, competitive and timely tender submissions by producing reliable quantity take-offs, collecting and assessing supplier quotations and maintaining well organised estimating records. They will proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities, meet tender deadlines and give the estimating team with the information needed to secure new projects and support the continuous expansion of the firm.

You will be taught by experienced experts from the scaffolding and construction business and will be exposed to the whole pre-construction and commercial process – from the initial tender inquiry and estimate stage through to project delivery to final account.

This is not a regular office job. We want you to know what we construct, how we build it and how decisions made in design and on site impact on the commercial success of a project.

Your Responsibilities

You will work with our Pre-Construction, Commercial, Design and Operations departments to:

Experienced estimators are needed to help prepare and submit tenders.

Learn to identify scope requirements and design workable scaffold solutions to meet project demands.

Learn how to read and interpret contracts and how to recognise commercial risks and possibilities.

Find out how to monitor project performance, with assistance with budgets, cost planning, values and variances.

Develop estimating and commercial processes and reporting across the organization.

Use drawings, 3D models, numbers and material schedules to help estimates and tenders.

Learn how scaffolding is created, adapted and removed and how buildability, program and site decisions effect cost, spend time on site.

Shadow site management and senior scaffold supervisors (Black Hats) to learn how projects really work.

Participate in meetings, liaise with clients and acquire confidence to speak, advise and make decisions.

Build and sustain long term client and project team relationships.

As you grow, take more ownership on tenders and commercial responsibility.
