We are searching for a compassionate and experienced mental health practitioner / community nurse to join our vibrant and enthusiastic Mental Health and Wellbeing team. This is a rare opportunity to work with veterans, the people who support and care for them and our experienced multi-disciplinary team to encourage rehabilitation and increase wellbeing.

The impact of trauma, transition from the military and mental health challenges can affect the whole family. At Op Courage, we think rehabilitation isn’t just about the individual, it’s about strengthening the family unit as a whole. Veterans rehabilitate, adapt and prosper when families, carers and friends are supported.
Position responsibilities
The family worker function is within a small specialist nursing team. You will be working directly with families, carers and friends, identifying their particular needs to build support pathways for families of veterans getting help from Op Courage.
The work will involve evaluation, recovery planning and co-ordination for families and the provision of welfare support, guidance and advice. Working in partnership with other Op Courage colleagues the postholder will have responsibility for improving the safety, self-management, independence and ability to enhance overall quality of life of the veterans’ family.
Op Courage is the Kent, Surrey and Sussex service and we offer examinations, support and psychological therapy through our Op Courage team. This role can be based in Sussex, Kent or Surrey however coverage across all regions will be required, through a mix of face to face and remote appointments.
