Transport and Distribution Manager – UK Visa Sponsorship Available
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Transport and Distribution Manager to join our private-hire and executive chauffeur transport business, Executive Travel London Limited, to manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet, the deployment of drivers and standards of service delivery across our client base. This is a crucial operational function reporting directly to the Director for the provision of efficient, compliant and high quality transport services.
Principal Accountabilities
Schedule and coordinate vehicles and driver assignments on a daily basis to meet customer bookings
Vehicle maintenance schedules Roadworthiness and conformity with transport rules
Manage relationships with fleet financing and maintenance vendors
Control of driver rotas, hours of work compliance and performance standards
Monitor gasoline, parking and operating costs and seek efficiency reductions
Liaise with client relationship and financial teams to ensure that service delivery is aligned with customer requirements
Produce frequent reports on fleet utilisation, expenses and service performance for the Director.
Drivers and vehicles comply with any applicable licensing and insurance requirements
Manage escalations regarding service delays, vehicle problems or driver behaviour
Prerequisites
Demonstrated experience managing a vehicle fleet, transport operation or distribution role (2+ years desirable)
Good organising and scheduling skills
UK transport/private hire legislation knowledge
Effective communication abilities to liaise with drivers, clients and management
Experience with fleet management or scheduling software.
