Summary of the job

Are you a qualified social worker and seeking for an exciting new opportunity? We are recruiting for a post within our Integrated Services for persons with disabilities headquartered at the Millennium Center Leasowe Wirral due to career growth.

Our team works with people with complex needs to enable them and their caretakers to achieve the outcomes they need. “CWP is leading the way in merging health and social care and this service is well placed to establish new, innovative methods of working together.

You will be a person centred practitioner with experience of undertaking Care Act assessments, designing personalised support plans, undertaking mental capability assessments and leading safeguarding enquiries. It is essential to have a thorough understanding of asset and strength based methods to evaluation and support planning. In return we can provide you defined professional advancement framework with a choice of training possibilities. Must be a qualified social worker and registered with the SWE;

Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are taken from salary post appointment. You are invited to join the DBS Update Service. There is a nominal yearly charge of £16 per annum.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

Required

Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work; DipSW or equivalent.

Registered with Social Work England and able to evidence this

Evidence of ongoing professional development aligned to PCF

Practice educator award required to be completed

Necessary

Able to demonstrate practice that promotes the fundamental values of the College of Social Work and Families and Wellbeing Directorate.

Understanding of legislation related to the Service Area e.g. Adults: Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA) and/or the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) Disability Discrimination Act 1995 Care Act 2014 Safeguarding

Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality needs

Able to interact verbally and in writing with a variety of people including relatives and professionals

Ability to display organising skills

Understanding of current difficulties and challenges in Social Work

A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.

Can work with people, families, carers/carer groups whatever their situation and background.

Willing to move across teams as per service needs

Understanding of and ability to provide great customer service and work in conjunction with individuals, families, carer/carer groups, colleagues within the council and partner agencies.

Strong interviewing and assessment skills

Demonstrate that you have the right IT abilities e.g. Microsoft Office use etc
