Summary of the Role
We are recruiting an experienced, competent and customer-focused Security Officer to help deliver a safe and secure environment for our students, staff and visitors.
As a Security Officer you will be a visible presence around campus responding to events and emergencies, patrolling, monitoring CCTV and security systems, managing access to buildings and supporting the safety and wellness of the University community.
You will provide outstanding customer service, maintain accurate records, assist with emergency evacuations and liaise with colleagues and emergency services as required.
Key Requirements
Previous security experience or experience in a profession with transferable abilities.
GCSE English Language (or similar)
Valid SIA Security Guarding and/or Door Supervision License
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to make good decisions and stay calm under pressure.
Experience in maintaining accurate records and reporting.
Good working understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018.
Familiarity with PACE 1984 & SOCPA 2005.
