Residential Workers – Multiple Vacancies in the County Durham Area
Salary: £30,024 – £33,699 (the beginning salary within the grade range will be determined by experience relevant to the role, if necessary for external candidates). This post is paid enhancements, an additional potential earning of up to £5,000 on top of the basic salary.
We are now recruiting Residential Workers to our children’s homes across County Durham, including mainstream, short-break, long-break, 16-17 year old provision and scheduled respite care services.
Contract alternatives. Full-time, part-time (mostly evenings/weekends) and casual positions available. You can specify preferred locations and contract types for consideration at interview.

The Role
As a Residential Worker in this role you will assist establish secure and supportive homes where children and young people can grow and aspire to their future.

What You Will Require
The role can be demanding and demands commitment and determination but the personal rewards are enormous.
We are looking for emotionally resilient, child-centred people who have:
GCSE Grade A – C in Maths and English or equivalent or a higher qualification
Hold or be prepared to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
Experience of working with children or young people (voluntary or professional)
Good interpersonal skills and able to be a positive role model for our children and young people
A flexible attitude to work
Candidates must possess a current driving licence and have access to a car (employees with a disability must have access to a means of mobility support).
All applicants must be over 22 years old.
This post requires an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Shift patterns are such that there is some flexibility for employees.
We run a service that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This means our shift based roles function on a rota basis and generate greater remuneration.

Lodgings and Removal
The successful candidate may be reimbursed for removal, lodging and separation expenses if, at the time of application for appointment, their place of residence is outside the administrative area of County Durham and more than 30 miles in a straight line from their new administrative centre, and a number of other criteria for eligibility.
