About the Role
Apple Pharmacy – Craigend is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispensing Assistant to join our team. In this position you will assist the pharmacy team in offering high quality pharmaceutical services to our community. You will play a major role in the safe and effective dispensing of medication, guaranteeing good customer service, and meeting all regulatory and legal requirements.
Sponsorship through Skilled Worker Visa
Primary Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing Assist in the preparation, labelling and dispensing of prescriptions correctly under the supervision of a registered chemist.
Stock Management: Assist in maintaining stock levels by monitoring deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly and updating inventory records.
Patient Interaction: Provide courteous service to patients. Answer routine questions and refer more complex questions to the chemist.
Compliance: Abide by all legal and regulatory obligations including confidentiality standards, health and safety rules and recommendations for good practice in pharmacy operations.
Administrative Support: Keep records up to date, handle transactions and support administrative duties such as filing, data entry and dealing with phone enquiries.
Quality Assurance: Maintain cleanliness, organization and standards of all dispensing areas in accordance with pharmacy standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Dispensing qualification desirable however complete training will be given to the right individual.
Attention to Detail: Precise in dispensing prescriptions, labelling medications and maintaining records.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, coworkers and other health professionals.
Organisational Skills: Strong prioritisation skills, time management and capacity to work under pressure in a fast paced setting.
IT Knowledge: Familiarity with common office applications and pharmaceutical management systems – we use Analyst PMR systems.
Knowledge of the law relating to pharmacy and the ethical principles applying in Scotland.
