Do you enjoy working with people and possess empathy?
As a Night Concierge, you will serve as a client’s initial point of contact and ensure their safety at night. You will be in charge of handling crises, doing routine health and safety inspections during patrols, performing routine cleaning, and keeping an eye on the CCTV system. You will also be responsible for reporting incidents or maintenance problems and informing the other members of the team of any occurrences or concerns.
The hostel on Birkenhead Street has thirty-one beds. Additionally, the Camden Safer Street team uses one emergency bed to transport people straight off the street. Homeless individuals 19 years of age and older, both male and female, including those who sleep on the streets, make up our primary clientele and have a range of support requirements. Project workers, night labourers, night concierges, and a small management team staff Birkenhead Street around-the-clock.
The schedule will be 10-hour shifts with no breaks, 4 nights on and 4 nights off, from 9.30 p.m. to 7.30 a.m. This will include collaborating with a night worker.
About You
We are seeking individuals with strong communication abilities and knowledge of the problems that homeless or vulnerable folks face. You must be enthusiastic about working for a service that helps vulnerable persons and be able to communicate positively and amiably with clients.
Furthermore,
You should be able to use your initiative to determine the right course of action in a variety of situations, as well as possess a basic level of literacy and numeracy skills.
Additionally, you will be required to act honourably, adhere to our policies and procedures, and be on time, awake, and vigilant throughout your shift.
Above all, we are seeking dedicated, hard-working people who genuinely want to help others change their lives; direct experience is not a need.
