As a Health Care Support Worker you will play a key role in our team delivering compassionate care and support to our patients.
You will work alongside our qualified nursing professionals to provide high quality care and contribute to the development of care plans.

Key role responsibilities
Engage with patients: Build genuine relationships with patients and their caretakers, Provide emotional support and communicate well.
Document Care: Record accurately observations & nursing care in accordance with Trust regulations,
Promote Safety : Ensure safety, well-being and interests of clients, staff and visitors.
Personal Care Assistance: Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, and clothing; maintain privacy and dignity at all times.
Support at Mealtimes: Help patients with their meals to make sure they get enough nutrition and hydration.
Support Development of New Staff Act as a role model and mentor to new Health Care Support Workers assisting them to complete their Care Certificate.
Clinical observations: carry out and report clinical observation, therapy observation
Maintain Cleanliness Take part in keeping a clean, neat and safe ward environment, following infection control rules.
Professional growth: Engage in mandated training and take responsibility for your own growth
Skills and talents
Required requirements
Basic IT skills – ability to use MS outlook, word and willing and able to be educated to use Trust IT systems and applications such as Electronic Patient Records or PARIS
Able to teach, guide and supervise the work of people under supervision.
Can show good interpersonal and verbal and written communication abilities.
Good grasp of English (written & spoken)
Ability to engage with people with mental ill health and communication obstacles.
Sensitive to emotional distress and able to use communication skills to de-escalate angry or disturbed persons.
Ability to be calm under difficult situations, showing compassion and empathy
Ability to maintain confidentiality, knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR.
