Community Care Worker – Sponsorship Switch Available

OakShed Care is a Camborne based home care firm providing services to the communities of West Cornwall. We are looking for committed and caring community care professionals who want to make a real difference in the lives of others. This is a job that is really rewarding, knowing that you have made a positive impact on the lives of the people you care for.

Previous experience of caring is helpful but not needed. We look for candidates that embody our basic principles. The ideal applicants will be fully trained to ensure that they have the skills and abilities to provide the highest degree of care to our service users.

Please be aware that this post requires an upgraded DBS check, 2 suitable references and the successful completion of statutory training.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have their own vehicle.

Duties include but are not limited to;

• Help with all elements of personal care including showering/strip washing/bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing etc.
• Support with all toileting and continence needs including pad replacement and skin integrity care.
• Preparing and serving food, drinks and snacks at right times.
• Helping with feeding and ensuring that sufficient food and water is taken.
• Medication assistance (after competency testing)
• Help plan and shop.
• Performing light house duties, such as vacuuming, washing dishes, etc.
• Supporting visits to other Health Professionals e.g. Hospital, GP, dentist.
• Offering emotional support by listening and talking to service users is a crucial part of providing support and care.
• Doing fun things together – watching films, playing cards, company
• Travel & Holiday Companion
• Assist the Service User with the welfare of their pets.
