As a Domiciliary Care Worker with GYC, you will be part of a professional and supportive team, providing personal and practical care to people in their own homes. This is a very fulfilling position for those who wish to make a meaningful difference to their local community serving clients with a wide range of care requirements and promoting independence dignity and wellbeing.
Main Responsibilities
Provide high quality personal care in the homes of service customers including:
Washing and dressing.
Care of catheter and stoma
Toileting and continence care
Support mobility needs using authorised techniques and equipment
Assist with the preparation of meals and serving food and drinks
Supervise and support medication protocols and keep correct records
Help keep your living spaces clean and secure by:
Light home chores (e.g. laundry, cleaning, tidying)
Supporting shopping or errands (when appropriate in the care plan)
Observe and record any change in the service user’s condition to Care Manager
Keep detailed records of every care provided, in compliance with business policy.
Record all home visits in the Electronic Call Monitoring system .
Work in accordance with Social Care Wales’ Code of Conduct and GYC values
Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures, particularly Health & Safety requirements
Continuous training and development (completely provided by GYC and partners)
Perform any other appropriate duties as specified by individual care plans.
