Job Responsibilities
Assist clients in activities of daily living such as bathing, clothing, grooming and ambulation.
Make healthy meals based on individual dietary restrictions/preferences.
Administer drugs properly, adhering to the established periods and protocols.
Support individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia or other cognitive impairments to regulate their behaviours and engage with them compassionately.
Provide transportation to appointments, errands or social trips using agency or personal vehicles.
Monitor health status, report changes quickly, document care delivered in complete records.
Do a little housework to keep a clean and safe place to live.
Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance mental health and alleviate feelings of loneliness.
Experience
Prior expertise in assisted living, nursing home settings or home care is highly appreciated.
Preference given to those with knowledge of patient care practices, including medicine administration and first aid certification.
Knowledge in dementia care, hospice care, and behaviour control tactics a plus.
Heavy lifting or physical assistance for mobility support experience is a plus.
Transportation duties must have valid driving licence and clean driving record.
Strong communication skills and a caring attitude are key to creating trusted connections with clients.
Previous expertise in childcare or caregiving is a plus in delivering comprehensive support.
