The Bakery Assistant will assist with day-to-day operations, food prep and ensuring all goods reach our high standards of quality.
Duties
Help in the preparation and baking of a wide range of cakes and baked items.
Help the food production process by measuring ingredients carefully and following recipes exactly.
Maintain kitchen and bakery areas clean and organised to food safety requirements.
Safe and efficient use of kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens and other baking equipment.
All baked products are made to the quality criteria set before presentation or sale.
Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all health and safety laws are followed at all times.
Help with stock control by checking stock levels and alerting management of shortfalls or expiry dates.
Help build a positive workplace environment by helping out team members when it becomes hectic.
Work History
Previous experience in food manufacturing, food preparation or cooking preferred but not needed since training will be given.
Preferred experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment.
Knowledge of baking skills and cooking habits is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety procedures & hygiene standards an advantage.
A real passion for baking and the culinary arts, proactive attitude to acquiring new skills.
