Bowman Farm is recruiting, we are wanting to grow our team going forward and have an exciting opportunity to join to the team a stock person/ animal husbandry based post within our family owned and operated 600 cow dairy farm.
Situated 10km from Gloucester on the Mid Coast NSW.

About Bowman Farm
Our family has been farming Bowman Farm for over 100 years and the 3rd and 4th generation Middlebrooks are the present stewards of the enterprise.
We are proud to be a long term business in our area, trading and giving jobs in the Mid coast region.
Our herd is mostly Holstein, we milk twice a day, every day of the year and we calve our cows all year round.
We operate a largely pasture based system, but will feed a total mix ration to the herd when required.
We are a growing business and we want to keep a strong farming position in our industry and in our beautiful Gloucester area.
Cow monitoring collars for animal health and reproduction status.
Water usage efficiency monitoring via soil moisture monitoring probes.
Technology in our sector is well accepted on Bowman Farm.
The dairy is a fully automated 30 a side herringbone quick exit with auto I.D, auto feed, auto cup removal, auto draft etc with the current up to date cow monitoring and record keeping software via Delpro.
We just upgraded our solar power system, and we now run 90% of our working hours off the grid using solar and battery storage electricity.
We always teach our workers in-house and through other courses so that the team may obtain more understanding of their roles as we enjoy watching individuals bloom, better themselves and grow a passion for farming.
Position Available
The role can be accomplished as full time, part time or casual to fit an individual’s preference and is roughly 40 hours per week.
Flexible roster with split shifts available to fit individual requirements if wanted for successful applicant.
Weekend employment will be built into the roster, working every second weekend.
The great thing is we can adapt our roster to fit the individual and us.
All staff are paid over award wages as a matter of course and every weekend is overtime.
Job Responsibilities
Cow transition period assistance and pre-calving cow monitoring.
Assisting the team on significant days of stock work being carried out.
Help with the day to day management of the farm when extra hands are needed.
Data entry of animal treatments for consistent stock records.
Milking and understanding milk harvesting operations and animal movements across the farm.
The whole growing and care of calves and young cattle from birth to 6 months of age.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking someone who is passionate about animals and has a good understanding of animal welfare or is eager to gain an understanding.
Animal health and hygiene is a key focus as is record keeping, vaccines, animal monitoring, drenching etc.
We are glad to attract international candidates as our business is registered to sponsor people from overseas who wish to seek residency within Australia.
We are currently sponsoring staff inside our team and are happy to add individuals to the squad.
Preference will be given to individuals in Australia working in this sector.
We are looking for a candidate that wants to be part of a dynamic team, honest, reliable, flexible and cheerful.
You will be glad to work on your own on certain days and as a team as well.
Experience in the field is not a must but definitely a plus.
