Assistant Poultry Manager – Visa Sponsorship Available
Lancashire, Garstang
Salary: £40,000 per annum – variable based on experience Home available just 0.4 miles from the poultry farm
We are seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Poultry Assistant Manager to join our established grill poultry business near Garstang.
You should have experience in the poultry industry, preferably poultry grill production. This is a great chance for an experienced poultry worker eager to step up to a managerial role. We would also consider a graduate with suitable poultry experience who is searching for a supported development opportunity and a long term career in poultry management.
You will work closely with the Poultry Farm Manager to assist with the management of the day-to-day running of the farm and to ensure good levels of bird care, biosecurity and flock performance.
Key roles will be:
Monitoring bird health, welfare and behaviour
Feeding, watering, lighting and ventilation equipment management
Temperature, humidity and air quality control
Recording feed and water intake, weight increase, mortality and flock performance
Keep accurate records of output and compliance.
to supervise and support people working on poultry farms
Planning daily activities and delivering good work
High standards of biosecurity, hygiene and cleanliness
Poultry equipment monitoring and maintenance requirements identification
Supporting compliance with requirements for farm assurance, health and safety, welfare and environmental
The successful candidate will be:
Previous hands on experience dealing with poultry
Understand poultry health and welfare and biosecurity
Be realistic, reliable and organised
Have great perceptive skills and attention to detail
Have confidence working alone and as part of a team
Be flexible and willing to work on weekends
Must be able to physically function in a poultry farm environment
An advantage would having a Poultry Passport qualification, although training and support can be provided.
