About the Role
We are seeking a Transport Planner with expertise and enthusiasm to join our team in Gravesend, Kent. The successful applicant will have their own live client base and will also work with our existing customers to develop the business, understanding of freight operations and be confident in using Haulage Exchange to manage loads and carrier connections.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee day to day goods forwarding activities, from booking to delivery
Develop and nurture relationships with your own portfolio of customers
Source and negotiate rates with carriers & haulers
Post loads, book transport, track shipments and manage documents leveraging platforms
Meet customer criteria and schedules for all shipments.
Solve transport problems swiftly and efficiently
Keep accurate records and convey modifications to clients
Requirements
1 year minimum experience in freight forwarding (road freight preferred)
Must bring own customer / current client base
Good working understanding of the Haulage Exchange
good bargaining and communication skills
Ability to operate independently and handle many shipments at once
Strong problem solving and organization skills.
