Orchard Lodge is a purpose built residential care and nursing home, in a well positioned setting in Armagh. Most of the suites, the major lounges and all the dining rooms enjoy views of the two local churches and the surrounding city.
At Orchard Lodge we provide professional person-centred residential and nursing care, with specific care for persons living with dementia. We are also registered to care for young persons with physical limitations.
Our bedrooms are private, fully-furnished and have en-suite facilities. All our bedrooms are light and large. Residents are extremely welcome to bring their own home furnishings and furniture to decorate their room and make it their own home. We have facilities designed to help individuals be as independent as possible, with the support of 24 hour care.
Our caring and nursing professionals are trained to give comforting, sympathetic assistance, companionship and comfort with the utmost dignity and respect so that all residents feel safe and secure living in our lovely community.
The Role
You will take delight in providing outstanding person-centred care to our residents, creating a welcome environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity and where staff are respected and supported.
As a member of our frontline team you will be an integral part of the day to day running of the Home, supporting activities of daily living to ensure the wellness and comfort of our residents.
As a Care Assistant you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, forming relationships that are meaningful and encouraging a sense of compassion; an advocacy for our residents’ rights and preferences.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Help residents with activities of daily life, including clothing, bathing, eating and moving.
Provide emotional support and companionship to seniors. Help people to enjoy an optimal quality of life.
Encourage residents to be as independent as possible and to participate in activities when able.
Assist with the transportation and handling of residents utilising the correct skills and equipment.
Assist the nursing and healthcare staff in monitoring the wellbeing of residents and reporting any changes in their health or conduct.
Follow care plans developed to meet the particular needs of each resident to ensure their comfort and safety.
To provide a clean, safe and homely atmosphere for the residents.
