Role Objective
As a Service Manager you will:
Support professional growth across your team to build practice, confidence and decision-making
Develop and promote a strengths based, person focused strategy to support individuals, families and carer’s
Enable teams to deliver creative, outcomes-focused support that enables independence and prevents long term need.
Collaborate with health, treatment and community partners
Ensure that all service delivery is structured, timely, evidence based and compliant with organisational standards
Main Duties
Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team to ensure standards of professional practice are maintained through supervision, appraisal and support.
All work will be delivered in accordance with legal, policy and quality assurance frameworks.
Improve quality and consistency of practice by managing the demand and flow of evaluations and reviews.
Own safeguarding decision making includes chairing meetings (inc’ peer forums) and ensuring comprehensive investigations.
Contribute to service planning and policy creation, using data and insight to promote change.
Provide performance enhancements that meet service plans and organisational priorities.
Manage money and resources to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Drive quality assurance and performance management, taking action on any issues.
Handle complaint, compliment and feedback processes.
Build and sustain good relationships with senior leaders and partner agencies.
Lead on recruitment, induction, supervision and workforce development.
Manage staff performance, including probation, appraisal and HR process as needed.
Ensure that adequate case management and record keeping processes are in place.
Promote partnership engagement among Neighbourhoods, Health and VCSE sector organisations.
What We Are Looking For – Required Skills & Experience
We are seeking an experienced and confident leader who can lead high quality practice, lead teams successfully and create good outcomes for the people we help.
You will have:
Recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England, with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
Proven expertise of managing, supervising or coaching people, with the ability to enable professional development and establish confident, capable teams.
Good understanding of social care regulations, safeguarding, strengths based, person centred practice.
Knowledge of the social model of disability and the implications of this for people with learning difficulties and their families.
Experience of working in conjunction with statutory, health and volunteer sector institutions to promote independence and positive results.
Experience in managing within budget, demand and service delivery control within resources allocated.
Confidence to use data and performance information to assess service pressures, enhance practice and drive performance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop productive relationships across teams, services and partner agencies.
The ability to manage competing demands, make solid professional choices and lead successfully in a dynamic, changing context.

You will be joining a busy, supportive and experienced Learning Disabilities service, working with Social Workers, Adult Social Care Practitioners and other organisations.

We may give Skilled Worker visa sponsorship to adequately qualified overseas Service Managers already residing in the UK.

Requirements
Knowledge
Knowledge and knowledge of the impact of life transitions, ageing, disability or mental health difficulties on persons, families or carers.
Experience of data and performance management in social care settings.
Knowledge of the principles of strengths based and person centred practice.
Knowledge of and comprehension of social care legislation.
Experience
Experience (4 years).
Experience in teaching/supervising/coaching and/or staff management.
Experience of working in conjunction with statutory/voluntary organisations to encourage the independence of service users.
Experience in managing within available resources.
Certifications / Registrations / Qualifications
Hold a validated SW professional certificate and be registered with Social Work England and have a minimum of three years’ post qualifying experience.
Will have or be prepared to get a suitable management certification and be able to demonstrate considerable post qualification personal development.
