Support Worker: Sponsorship Available

Summary of the Job

The States of Guernsey want to hire a Support Worker to work at the Autism Hub in Le Vieux Jardin. The Hub helps eight persons with autism and/or severe and multiple learning difficulties 24 hours a day. Each person lives in their own specially built house.

Staff use the Active Support Model, which focuses on doing things with people instead of for them. This encourages choice, independence, and participation at every opportunity to help service users with daily tasks like personal care, taking their medications, cooking, cleaning, shopping, managing their money, and getting around in the community.

You will work with other workers and senior staff to provide high-quality, person-centred care and be a co-key worker for the service users you are assigned. Staff members must be dedicated, dependable, and passionate about helping others live meaningful and independent lives.

Flexibility is important because the job requires you to work nights and weekends as well as 24-hour shifts. You need a full driving licence and be willing to operate service vehicles.
