We’re searching for someone with a lot of experience working with newborns—someone who can lead with confidence, communicate well, and thrive in situations that call for quick thinking, proactive decision-making, and a composed, forward-focused approach. As objectives change, you will lead and motivate your team, foster their growth, and remain adaptable and resilient.

Our Neonatal Matron and the Neonatal Education team will provide you with the framework and guidance you require to succeed in this thrilling leadership role.

As a crucial element of the divisional management team, the Ward Manager will assist the division in meeting all of its important performance goals. They will be responsible for providing proactive resource management and excellent professional nursing leadership for the clinical area within their purview. As a seasoned professional, the position holder will be expected to concentrate on maintaining a clean environment for patient care, guaranteeing best practices in infection control, raising clinical care standards, and treating patients with respect and dignity within the allotted resources.

primary responsibilities of the position

Genomic medicine is a major focus for shifting healthcare from treatment to prevention, as stated in the NHS 10-Year Plan and Life Sciences Sector Plan. To facilitate this change, digital, data, and informatics are essential.

We are at the forefront of this field’s research and innovation in the North East and Yorkshire (NEY). These positions provide the opportunity to work with a progressive organization that is promoting change.

To bolster our senior Digital, Data, and Informatics delivery team, we are seeking a Digital Project Manager. This 18-month fixed-term position will support strategic initiatives and future service delivery.

Approximately 8.5 million individuals receive equitable, patient-centered care from seven regional programs, including the NEY Genomic Medicine Service (GMS), which offers diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic insights.

Together with Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of four partner trusts in the NEY GMS.

We integrate genetics into standard care in collaboration with the NHS and local healthcare partners, allowing for quicker, more precise diagnoses, individualised treatments, and early detection-based prevention.

Role: Project Supervisor

Pay range: £49,387 to £56,515 annually

primary responsibilities of the position

Dimension 1: Advance the installation of our current Genomic Laboratory Information Management System (GLIMs). This will give our Clinical, Scientific, and Operational teams a single solution for the entire region, which will greatly improve our digital maturity and operations and improve the experience for both the population we serve and the employees who supply it.

Dimension 2: Advance the implementation of our digital roadmap, which combines regional initiatives like Cloud First Strategy, Networks of Excellence, and AI and Automation with the NHSE-commissioned national program, which includes digitising the Test Directory, Order Management, and the Unified Genomics Record.

Travel within NEY will be necessary for this regional service, but for a qualified applicant, hybrid working is an option.
