Latest News The UK Home Office is being raided widely! Out of multiple establishments, twelve Indians were apprehended.

April 11, London In a series of searches, the UK’s immigration authorities have detained eleven men and one woman, all of whom are reportedly Indian nationals, on suspicion of violating the terms of their visas and working unlawfully at a bedding and cake factory.
In response to information that illicit work was being done on the premises, Immigration Enforcement officials stormed the bedding and mattress company in the West Midlands area of England, according to a statement released by the UK Home Office on Wednesday.
Seven Indian males were taken into custody for allegedly engaging in illicit work, according to the Home Office.

At a nearby cake factory, four more Indian males were taken into custody. They were discovered to have violated the terms of their visas, and one of them was engaging in illicit employment. Thereafter, at a private residence, an Indian woman was taken into custody for visa violations, and more raids were scheduled for the afternoon, the statement stated.
Eight of the criminals have been granted bail with the requirement that they report to the Home Office on a regular basis. Four of the offenders, according to the officials, are being held while their case is being considered for removal from the UK or deportation to India.
In the meanwhile, if it turns out that the two companies hired unauthorised personnel at their factories and neglected to carry out the necessary pre-employment screenings, they could potentially be subject to substantial fines.

Michael Tomlinson, the UK Minister for Countering Illegal Migration, stated, “This operation is a clear example of the way we are stepping up immigration enforcement activity across the country.”
“We will not hesitate to act and remove workers who are found to have no right to live or work here,” the speaker declared. “Employers found to be breaching the rules can expect significantly increased fines.”
The Home Office increased sanctions for companies that hire illegal immigrants by three times in February of this year. The fines have increased from GBP 20,000 to GBP 60,000 for repeat violations within three years, while the first violation now carries a penalty of GBP 15,000 to GBP 45,000 per unlawful worker.

“Working illegally defrauds the public coffers, endangers vulnerable individuals, and seriously damages communities. “The arrests clearly indicate that we are taking action against this risky behaviour,” stated Eddy Montgomery, the Home Office’s Director of Enforcement, Compliance, and Crime.
Smugglers of people spread the myth that immigrants may find employment in the UK. The truth is that they are unable to, and anyone discovered to be engaging in illicit employment or aiding in this crime will be held fully accountable by the law, the speaker stated.
The government of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has made combating illegal immigration a top priority, and in recent months, stricter visa requirements have been implemented for all categories.
This week sees the gradual implementation of a GBP 29,000 minimum income requirement for foreign applicants, including Indians, in order to obtain Family Visas for their dependents. The previous threshold was GBP 18,600.
This is expected to equal the GBP 38,700 skilled worker visa criteria by early next year, which the Home Office stated would provide financial support for family members come to the UK.
