UK Healthcare professionals will get a one-time payment of £3000
UK Healthcare professionals will get a one-time payment of £3000. The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has disclosed that over 27,000 healthcare workers will receive two one-time payments totaling up to £3,000.
According to the DHSC, “the vital role of healthcare workers at social enterprises, charities, private providers and local authorities” is acknowledged by the two payments, which have a minimum value of £1,665.
In addition to a 5% pay increase, over a million NHS employees received two one-time payments last year.
But only individuals who were directly employed by NHS organisations were eligible for last year’s payments.

Who is going to get the new one-time payments?
A variety of frontline workers at non-NHS organisations, including community nurses, sexual health workers, physiotherapists, speech-language therapists, and others, will receive the two new payments, which are a part of a larger NHS pay package.
One of the new payments, according to the DHSC, was meant expressly to acknowledge the efforts made by healthcare professionals to shorten waiting lists.
“I greatly value the hard work of all our healthcare staff, and those working in non-NHS organisations provide vital support to patients,” stated Victoria Atkins, the secretary of health and social care.
We decided to provide this funding and to loosen the requirements employers must meet in order to be financially eligible because we want to make sure that qualified employees receive these payments.
“It will guarantee that diligent employees and the companies they work for can profit fully from the NHS pay arrangement.”
Director of the Royal College of Nursing calls new payments a “huge leap forward.”
Patricia Marquis, director of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) for England, referred to the DHSC’s announcement regarding one-time payments for additional healthcare workers as “a huge leap forward.”
“They deliver NHS care and deserve the same treatment,” the speaker stated.
“We will request confirmation that the monetary amounts have the same value.
“This award shall be paid to nursing staff, regardless of contract, who provide care that is funded by the public.” Waiting a full year made matters worse, and the department needs to learn never to do this again.
