About the Role

This is a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term project officer position that requires 37.5 hours per week.

We are seeking a seasoned project manager with a proven track record of completing projects in challenging settings. To assist us in the creation and implementation of a brand-new cooperative project supported by the NIHR Northwest Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN), you have the chance to join our Research and Innovation (R&I) Team. The main responsibility of this position will be to develop, set up, and carry out a project involving Northern Care Alliance (NCA) and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). Improving access to acute care research for mental health service users and expanding access to mental health research for patients in acute care settings are the main goals of this initiative.

The position holder will be in charge of creating, putting into place, and overseeing project management systems. To guarantee that quality requirements are fulfilled and project outputs are delivered on schedule, they will identify risks and make sure that the proper mitigation is implemented. They should be outstanding project managers, capable senior administrators who can handle line management when needed, and possess strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Principal Duties

All documentation will be generated and updated to the highest standards by the post holder.

In order to meet departmental, local, and trust objectives, the position holder must make well-informed judgements and resolve problems within their area of responsibility. It will require a great deal of initiative.

Ensuring regular engagement and efficient communication within the Trust and with the NCA is a crucial aspect of this function.

By keeping an eye on, reporting, and actively managing performance in relation to the aforementioned goals, the position holder will assist the project.

In a fast-paced office setting, the position holder will be able to prioritise a hectic task and possess exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
They will play a crucial part in creating and preserving a suitable, participant-focused environment and assisting in the generation of high-caliber research.

To meet the goals of this position, the holder will be expected to completely engage in their own personal growth and review process.

The position holder must work throughout the GMMH footprint.

Qualifications

Education (Must Have)

  • A postgraduate degree or comparable level of education gained via experience and additional education
  • Experience is necessary.
  • Demonstrated operational expertise in overseeing intricate projects with interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of organising and arranging a variety of ongoing projects and tasks
  • Knowledge of database administration and systems
  • Proficiency in coordinating big committee meetings and dealing with committees

Desirable

  • Proficiency in collaborating with diverse individuals and groups, preferably within a healthcare environment
  • Experience managing contracts and budgets
  • Long-term planning experience
  • Experience in project management that is pertinent

Knowledge (Essential)

  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools
  • Expertise in various work processes and practices supported by theoretical understanding or pertinent real-world experience
