Overview of the job
There is a fantastic new opportunity for a fixed-term Booking Coordinator/Support Worker to help MCHFT launch a Breast Pain Clinic Pilot. In addition to supporting the delivery of Breast Clinics, the position holder will offer the Breast team extensive and highly effective administrative support services. The position holder will collaborate closely with the Breast Speciality Physician, who will offer daily guidance and assistance.
The team is seeking a vibrant, driven individual who will assume responsibility for the position and advance in the position as the pilot progresses.
The job’s primary responsibilities include
Report to and collaborate closely with the breast specialist physician, who will offer daily guidance and assistance.
Organise the scheduling of outpatient appointments for the entire Breast service, including but not restricted to the pilot clinics for Breast discomfort. In particular:
- Make appointments and stay in touch with patients, including organising and preparing the Family History forms that will be distributed before appointments.
- Acknowledge and address patient enquiries about appointments.
- Give patients breast care pamphlets, keep an eye on the supply, and place orders as needed.
- Compile documentation for clinics.
- While the Breast Speciality Doctor performs physical examinations and patient assessments, patients are escorted throughout the clinic.
- After the appointment, finish all administrative duties, such as writing letters and making referrals.
- Following appointments, correspondence with GPs.
Qualifications/ Knowledge
- Excellent general education including GCSEs in maths and English
- ECDL or comparable experience
- Level 3 qualification in health or social care (NVQ or equivalent)
- Experience in health or social care that is pertinent, including direct patient interactions
- advanced familiarity with medical terms.
- expertise in mentoring and instructing patients and carers.
