Baby, who was born in the UK, is being told to leave in order to “maintain integrity of immigration laws.”A father who fears that his baby, born in the UK, would be deported is pleading with the Home Office to be more lenient in its enforcement of visa regulations.

13-month-old Massah was born in the Midlands in April of last year. Since her father arrived in Britain in 2021 as a PhD student from Jordan and her mother followed as his dependent, both of her parents have been residents of the country lawfully.

After the family travelled overseas for a vacation in January, Massah is being threatened with removal.

Massah officially re-entered the UK as a tourist because her status wasn’t verified before the family left the country for the first time, and authorities won’t acknowledge the inconsistency.

After their daughter’s parents attempted to apply for a child-dependent visa, the Home Office informed them this month that their daughter “will be required to leave the UK” and that she would need to reapply for a visa from outside the country.

“In the specific circumstances of your case, it has been concluded that the need to maintain the integrity of the immigration laws outweighs the possible effect on you/your children,” the government letter continues.

Muhammad, Massah’s father, claims that he and his spouse have had restless nights. They haven’t advanced their cause any further despite their MP and solicitors attempting to present their case.

Because of the present unrest in the Middle East, they don’t want to have to transport their child to Jordan to reapply, and even if they did, they worry that their application could still be denied.

As he tells Sky News, “I can’t imagine how I can tell her the story in the future that the country you [were] born asked you to leave while you [were] a year old.” Mohammad says his daughter’s bond with Britain will be forever altered.

He displays the mountains of documents he has gathered in an attempt to solve the problem.

“My goal is to make everything right. A one-year-old baby doesn’t need to be considered an overstayer in this situation,” he declared.

“All visa applications are carefully considered on their individual merits in accordance with the immigration rules,” a Home Office official told Sky News.

“We are working closely with the parents of this child to ensure they receive the support and direction they require regarding the application.”

One of the main initiatives taken by the government to lower immigration to the UK is the tightening of immigration regulations.

The prime minister reaffirmed that the repatriation of asylum seekers to Rwanda will not occur until after the general election, despite data released on Thursday indicating a minor decline in net migration.

The Rwanda plan is still a key Conservative promise, but before election day, people will merely need to have faith that planes will take off without any proof.

The fate of those seeking asylum will be a contentious issue during the election campaign.

People who arrived in Britain by small boat still wear the clothing that were handed to them at a processing centre near Dover, according to one charity in Derby.

Labour’s intention to discontinue flights to Rwanda raises the potential that many terrified asylum seekers won’t ever have to confront the prospect of being sent back to the African country.

However, Indian Damil remains uneasy: “Perhaps we will be content with this after [the] election since the Labour Party will be our next… I have no idea what’s going on.

“We are still concerned about these issues. Rwanda and the election also frighten me.”

Earlier last month, one man—who we’ll call Nahom—was arrested and brought to a detention facility.

He received word a few days ago that he had been chosen for the inaugural flight to Rwanda, which is scheduled for June.

Over the phone, he informed us that “the first flight to Rwanda will be on June 24” from the removal site.

However, when we published Rishi Sunak’s remark on Thursday, he told us the statement offered him “hope” for his circumstances: “If the Labour Party [wins], there would be no flights at all… That’s encouraging to learn.”
