A Band 4 clinician has an amazing chance to join the Nottinghamshire CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) Service. In terms of screening, triaging referrals, obtaining more information, networking, liaising, contributing to MDTs, and leading on development areas within the particular role, we are seeking a compassionate, personable, and self-assured clinician who can work both independently and with assistance from the senior clinical team. To deliver a comprehensive approach and within the THRIVE model of care, you will need to operate independently, flexibly, and within professional bounds in addition to working as a team.

For children and youth with a general practitioner (GP) in Nottinghamshire, SPA offers a single point of contact for referrals into CAMHS. In addition to screening and triaging new referrals to gather more contextual information about mental health presentations, the service offers a secure, responsible, and regulated mechanism for accepting professional and self-referrals. In order to choose the best service to satisfy the presenting needs at the specified time, you must also identify any risk factors and offer guidance on avoiding risks, psychoeducational assistance, and quick decision-making. As a result, meeting the emotional and mental health presenting needs by enabling, facilitating, and suggesting the appropriate offer, service, and timing.In order to make well-informed decisions, this calls for tight collaboration, knowledge of Nottinghamshire’s universal services, and expertise in CAMHS care.
Task allocation meetings, multidisciplinary meetings, referral meetings, and specific time slots during the working day for conducting triage calls and other SPA service functions are among the daily structures in place to satisfy the demands of SPA.
The chosen candidate is expected to participate in peer support sessions, attend challenging case discussions, obtain clinical, management, and safeguarding supervision, and share training and expertise with team members.

Qualifications

A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or a comparable or pertinent CAMHS experience, and the readiness to pursue further education are prerequisites.

Understanding of various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and solution-focused treatment

- Experience working with adolescents who have a variety of emotional and mental health issues.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with children, adolescents, and their families and build therapeutic relationships.
- Experience working across agencies and disciplines.
- The capacity to keep up-to-date, accurate case records in accordance with Trust guidelines.
- Able to offer harm reduction advice while being supervised by band 6 CAMHS SPA Practitioners.
Desirable
- Familiarity with the practical application of Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) in clinical settings.
- Experience in the community
- Expertise in administering group therapies or interventions.
- Expertise in offering children, adolescents, and their families/caregivers evidence-based therapies and interventions.
- Experience providing therapeutic interventions while being watched over.
