Description of the Job:
A committed and enthusiastic Youth Participation Officer is needed to join Rainbow Fostering Services Ltd.’s diverse workforce. The ideal applicant will be in charge of organising and directing family and child-focused activities, mentoring young people with special education needs, and teaching children. You will be essential in establishing a secure and supportive atmosphere for young people to flourish in your capacity as a Youth Participation Officer.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a strong desire to see all kids and teens with special needs and disabilities included in regular activities. You’ll be able to establish trustworthy connections with kids of various skill levels as well as their parents and caretakers very fast. You’ll be skilled and informed in assisting kids in communicating with senior decision makers and expressing their opinions through a variety of participatory methods and strategies. We’re searching for someone who can manage connections with a variety of partners, including outside organisations, in the local area and who recognises the importance of partnership working.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Participate in the events and programs offered by our Youth Participation Service with children and youth.
- Develop and carry out activities that are suitable for each stage of development.
- Give kids help and direction in their schooling.
- Encourage and assist kids and teens, especially those with special education needs.
- Encourage constructive interactions with foster families and young people.
- Work together with coworkers to guarantee everyone’s wellbeing.
- Keep thorough notes of the development and behaviour of the kids.
- Advertise and represent Rainbow Fostering throughout the United Kingdom in order to enhance the annual number of children we assist.
- Work to improve a person’s life and speak up for the needs of families and children.
- Centred manner that gives beneficiaries a sense of empowerment
- Ensuring the safe delivery of services and swiftly addressing any safeguarding-related issues in accordance with Rainbow
Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is necessary.
- A bachelor’s degree is ideal.
- A track record of success working with kids and young people
- Proficiency in conducting group projects with kids, teens, and families
- The ability to cultivate connections with affiliated organisations
- Understanding of the concepts and procedures of foster care
- The capacity to guide and assist traumatised children and adolescents, particularly those with special education needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Empathy, perseverance, and a sincere want to see kids and teens succeed
- Resilient and capable of sustaining vitality, concentration, and optimism
- An innovative method of addressing issues
- The capacity to autonomously handle one’s own task
- Travelling for events is a must.
- Although not required, certification in youth work or a similar sector is preferred.
