An experienced, certified, and highly trained HLTA practitioner has a fantastic opportunity to assist in the formation of a brand-new specialist team within Together for Children’s Specialist Education Service.
We are looking for an exceptional practitioner with experience teaching students with autism and/or social and emotional mental health problems, including trauma, in a truly person-centred manner. For students with complicated special education needs and disabilities (SEND), who are unable to attend standard formal education settings, the chosen candidate must have a track record of supporting person-centred, personalised learning. This is an excellent chance to join a seasoned and committed service that employs a variety of multidisciplinary professionals. Children and young people with complicated SEND will receive high-quality bespoke education packages from the newly established Bespoke Education Team, which will be a component of the larger Specialist SEND Service.
Two HLTAs and two Specialist Teacher positions will make up the core Bespoke Education team. But as part of this team, you will have access to the wider knowledge of the Specialist SEND Service, which encompasses Educational Occupational Therapy, Autism Outreach, Language and Learning, Portage, and the Children’s Sensory Impairment Team. Strong connections to other programs, such as Virtual School, IPBS, Children with Disabilities Team, therapy teams, CAMHs, and CYPs, will also be facilitated by the chosen applicant.
For children and young people with EHCPs who are utilising EOTAS packages, successful candidates will be expected to directly contribute to the implementation of customised education packages. In order to facilitate the creation of individualised learning programs that are suited to each child’s and young person’s requirements as specified in their EHCP, they will also collaborate with the Statutory SEND Team and a variety of Alternative Providers and tuition services. Contributing to the delivery of training to larger stakeholders in accordance with areas of specialised expertise may also be part of the function.
The Specialist Support Service is dedicated to responding in compliance with the Together for Children’s Safeguarding Policies in order to protect and safeguard its students and employees.
Visa sponsorship: All nationalities are invited to apply, however those who are hired must be able to work in the UK by the start of their job.
The Disclosure and Barring Service will conduct a DBS check for this position since it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act of 1974.
