Donor Carer – UK NHS Jobs with Visa Sponsorship

Summary of the Job

It takes all kinds of people to give the kind of service that saves and enhances lives. You’ll be part of a team of more than 6,000 individuals at NHS Blood and Transplant making a real impact to communities, families, friends, relatives and more across the UK.

The employment will require working a range of hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays but no night shifts!

We have two twelve month fixed term contracts available. One is full time 75 hours per fortnight (average of 4 days per week) and one is part time 56.25 hours per fortnight (average of 3 days per week).

You will work shifts and the hours can vary however most of the hours are Sunday to Friday between 10:00 and 21:00. Days will be approximately 9.5 hours long.

  • You don’t require a healthcare background experience in retail, hospitality, customer service or even volunteering is just as valuable.   • This role is an opportunity to work in the NHS and gain healthcare experience. You will be the friendly face that greets our donors, supports them through the donation process and ensures they leave feeling positive about their experience. You’ll be responsible for providing outstanding care throughout their journey with us, from checking them into our systems, to ensuring their comfort during and after their donation.
  • You’ll also keep accurate records, handle blood products safely and prepare for a smooth session. You’ll also get the chance to drive our equipment lorry (don’t worry we’ll give you full training for this!).
  • It’s a hands-on, active role with some lifting and movement, so you’ll need to be comfortable being on your feet and working as part of a supportive, tight-knit team.

About Me

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in dealing with the public.
  • Experienced in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Be ready to acquire new technical skills and digital training.

Training & Qualifications

  • Have good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Be willing to pursue growth and training to up-skill yourself including completing the Skills for Health Care Certificate.
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence (Manual) with no more than 6 penalty points (provisional licences wil not be accepted).

Sponsorship for a visa is only available for the full time position.

If you are successful in being shortlisted you will be invited to attend a blood collection session to get a feel for the position and will be followed by a face to face interview.

The session visit is scheduled for Tuesday 11 August 2026.

The interviews are scheduled for Friday 14 August 2026.
