Summary:
Hope Homecare are searching for compassionate, reliable and dedicated Support Workers to join our pleasant nurse-led team. This work involves assisting people and children in their own homes and community settings including those with complex needs, fostering independence, dignity, wellbeing and person focused assistance.
As an assistance Worker you will offer practical, emotional and social assistance to service users, allowing them to maintain independence and improve the quality of their lives in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Help service users with activities and routines of daily living
Offer emotional support, friendship and encouragement
Assist people with personal care where needed
Assist community users including appointments and social activities
Help with meal preparation, nutrition and hydration
Support for people in the safe use of equipment and mobility
Medication reminders and health monitoring assistance
Maintain accurate records and disclose issues if applicable
Promote independence, choice, dignity and person focused support
Work in partnership with families, healthcare professionals and the entire support team
Ensure service consumers are secure, comfortable and supported at all times
Travel safely between service users’ residences and to community settings
Requirements
A kind, empathetic and reliable attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work individually and within a team
Previous support work or care experience is desirable but not needed as complete training will be provided
Experience with people with complex needs is a bonus
You will need a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
Sponsorship may be offered for drivers who have their own vehicles
