We are seeking an experienced and detail orientated Butcher to join our dynamic food manufacturing team. In this work you will be responsible for accurately and carefully preparing, cutting and packing meat products to ensure the highest standards of quality and food safety are maintained. Your experience will help us offer outstanding products to our clients in a clean and organised work environment. Responsibilities:
Select, cut, trim and prepare various types of meat per requirements and customer’s preferences
Ensure all meat products are handled safely, stored appropriately and maintained at suitable temperatures in conformity with food safety requirements
Keep workstations, tools and equipment clean and sanitary during the shift
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and rotating products to minimise waste
Follow all food safety and health rules during food preparation and handling procedures
Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets and quality standards
Answer queries on meat cuts and culinary suggestions when appropriate. Provide exceptional customer service.
Demonstrated expertise in food production, culinary arts or butchery, with a sound knowledge of meat preparation procedures
Knowledge of food safety regulations and health and sanitation practices
Restaurant or kitchen experience a plus
Ability to safely and efficiently use knives and other butchering tools
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Physical stamina to be on your feet for long periods and lift big loads if needed
Good team working skills with optimistic mindset to work in a collaborative atmosphere
