Overview of the Role:
On behalf of local authorities, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of emergency and temporary housing properties as a Property Management Officer. You will guarantee that properties are appropriate, kept up properly, and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations as well as housing laws. To provide exceptional customer service and assistance, you will collaborate closely with council teams, service suppliers, landlords, and tenants.
Principal Duties:
- Oversee and keep up a portfolio of emergency and temporary lodging establishments, making sure they adhere to safety and quality requirements.
- Plan maintenance and repairs as soon as possible, paying particular attention to problems like mould and moisture removal.
- Tenant support, tenancy compliance, and communication with the council and other partners are all included in the tenancy management services you offer.
- Make sure that health and safety laws are being followed by conducting routine property inventories and inspections.
- To enable efficient property management operations, cooperate with councils, landlords, and outside contractors.
- Assist renters during their stay and make sure that accommodations are available on schedule to support the council’s efforts to prevent homelessness.
- Keep abreast of council regulations, housing laws, and best practices pertaining to temporary housing.
- When required, prepare reports and speak on behalf of the service in meetings with council representatives and other stakeholders, as well as in court.
- Participate in efforts to enhance services and use a business-oriented approach to income maximisation and asset management.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience managing a home or tenant, ideally in emergency or transitional housing situations.
- Familiarity with housing laws pertaining to temporary housing and homelessness.
- Strong knowledge of judicial and legal procedures as well as tenant management.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with council partners, landlords, and tenants in an efficient manner.
- The capacity to oversee several tasks in a hectic, client-focused setting.
- Dedication to providing services with equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- It is preferred if you have relevant experience in property management, housing, or similar industries.
