Important Information

About Us
We are a small, independent social care organization situated in Colchester.
We help eight persons with learning difficulties in a residential care setting:
We reside in a large bungalow called The Conifers and are a family of five. We have a lovely yard and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
We have two people living in our self-contained independent flats who require specialised one to one help with their complex demands.

Female Support Worker – 39 Hours Weekly
This work will involve supporting people with their personal care, daily routines, activities, appointments, community access and mental health.
The chosen applicant will work a range of shifts including early, late and weekend jobs. The pattern of the proposed shift will be discussed at interview and verified in writing as part of any offer of employment.
Female Waking Nite Support Worker. 9 Hour Nights. Full and Part Time hours available.
The successful applicant will be awake throughout the shift and will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort and wellness of the people utilising the service overnight.
Responsibilities will include reacting to individual needs, providing personal care as necessary, executing scheduled checks, keeping accurate records and providing a clear handover to the daytime staff.
The planned nite shift pattern will be addressed during interview and verified in writing as part of any offer of employment.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, depending on the position applied for:
Assisting clients with personal care like bathing, clothing and daily life activities.
Offering company and emotional support.
Assisting persons with mobility, physical activity, appointments and social events.
Helping people connect with their own community.
Driving individuals to appointments, activities and outings using business vehicles as appropriate.
Championing choice, independence, dignity and person-centred assistance.
Positive Behaviour Support techniques and personalised behaviour-support programs.
Good communication skills with health care professionals, family and colleagues.
Assessing dangers and assisting people securely in the home and community.
Maintaining accurate records of care, wellbeing, progress and support provided.
Individual care plans, risk evaluations and organisational policies and
Responding to emergencies in a timely manner and reporting issues in a timely manner.
Participating in training, supervision and continuing professional development.
About You
Applicants must:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must hold a full UK driving licence as there is no public transit and staff may be expected to drive business vehicles.
Previous experience of working in the care sector, ideally with persons with learning difficulties.
Be compassionate, patient, adaptable and eager;
Self-confident and responsible, with the capacity to work autonomously.
Take the initiative and make a proper assessment of danger.
Commit to providing safe, dignified and person-centred support.
Be able to communicate effectively and keep correct records.
Be legally qualified to take up the advertized employment
