Bakery Manager – Sponsorship for UK Visa

About this Position

We are looking for a Bakery Manager / General Manager to lead the day to day operations and growth of our well established bakery business in Liverpool.

With a team of over 20 personnel you will be responsible for bakery production, team management, daily operations and helping to take the business ahead with a busy wholesale and retail operation.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of baking, production, wholesale and retail.
• Lead, manage and encourage a team of around 20 people.
• Supervise bakery production in terms of quality, consistency, efficiency and on time wholesale orders.
• Plan output to meet demand from retail, wholesale and customers.
• Manage staff rotas, training, performance and daily duties.
• Stock control, buying, suppliers and waste reduction
• Maintain high standards of food safety, HACCP, allergens, hygiene and health & safety.
• Track sales, personnel costs and business success.
• Identify and lead initiatives to increase sales, wholesale and retail business and profitibility.
• Build relationships with existing wholesale customers and identify new business opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for product, production process and customer service enhancement.
• Resolve operational and consumer concerns on a daily basis.
• Work directly with owners to accelerate business growth, find new prospects and increase overall performance.

About yourself

• Experience in operating a bakery, food production company, restaurant, food manufacturing operation or similar business.
• Experience in bakery manufacturing and/or bakery management is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams of 15-20+ employees.
• Strong people skills and operational management
• Experience in food wholesale and/or retail operations.
• Experience of staff rotas. Stock control and supplier relationships.
• Food safety expertise, HACCP and allergen management.
• Good commercial awareness – understanding sales, costs, margins and profitability.
• The ability to identify opportunities to sell, and to create a business.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• A realistic, pre-emptive approach.
• Ability to work on your own. Decision making and responsibility for the business.
• A practical problem-solving approach.

Experience and Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 3 – desirable.
• Experience in managing a bakery is highly desirable.
• Desirable wholesale food production experience.
• Experience of managing a team of 15-20+ desirable
