We are recruiting for an experienced healthcare Assistant to join the established team at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) within the Heart and Lung Directorate.
It’s an exciting moment to be at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Cardiac Nursing. We’re extending our service and we need your help.Cardiac services are starting an ambitious program of reform to meet the difficulties of creating a world leading cardiac program.
We are looking to expand the service to open a 16 bedded high dependency Unit in the next 2 years. This will allow children needing heart surgery to be looked after in the correct area at the right time allowing for speedy discharges.” Join us in being part of this change.
To work cooperatively as part of the health care team, assisting registered nurses and other health care practitioners in the tasks involved with delivering care to meet the health and well-being of the child/young people and their families.
Work with certified nurses to fulfil children and young people’s day to day living needs
Reassure, soothe and support the kid / young person and their relatives if they are nervous or distressed
Communicate clearly, effectively and properly with the healthcare team, child/young person and their family/carers/visitors
Answer questions correctly and take telephone messages and pass on written and verbal information to the healthcare team, the child/young person and their family/carers/visitors.
Help maintain a clean environment conducive to safe practice Clean patient equipment as necessary.
Monitor and control environment, equipment and resources
Participate in required annual training and other training opportunities relevant to role.
To engage in further training and development initiatives to upgrade professional growth

GCSE (Grade 4 – 9) in English and Maths or Functional Skills level 2 pass in English and Maths or comparable qualification acknowledged
NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care (eg University Certificate of Competence in Principles of Children & Young People Healthcare, advanced diploma, Higher apprenticeship Level 3) or Healthcare Support Worker Level 2

Experience/Knowledges:
