Summary of the Job
Join our dynamic food team as a Kitchen Porter, bringing your passion and drive to ensure our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. Your primary duties in this post will include ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised and safe and assisting the chefs and kitchen workers with food prep and serve. Your proactive attitude will help us ensure our culinary operations provide outstanding experiences to our visitors each and every day. Responsibilities
Keep maintain high hygiene standards by cleaning and sanitising all cooking equipment, utensils and work surfaces.
Help with simple food preparation duties under the direction of chefs or kitchen managers
Washing, drying and storing dishes, cookware and kitchen utensils in a timely manner
Assist in organising stock and supplies to provide a productive work space
Assistance with garbage disposal and recycling procedures as per health requirements
Keep all specified locations, such as prep stations, storage rooms and dishwashing zones, clean.
Assist serving staff during peak service periods maintaining clean plates Assist with light duties
Prerequisites
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality industry is preferable but not needed, a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential
Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene procedures
Ability to endure standing for long periods of time and heavy physical labour.
Good team player with a proactive attitude toward helping others
Knowledge of kitchen operations like meal preparation, helping with cooking, or serving is useful
Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends or holidays as needed
A passion for hospitality and growth within the food industry
