We are now seeking a Management Accountant to become a member of our Finance team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will have a key role in providing effective budgeting, reporting and accounting support across the Glasgow School of Art. You will contribute to the creation of yearly budgets and longer-term financial forecasts, prepare monthly management accounts and provide analytical financial analysis to assist informed decision-making across the School.
The job will work closely with budget holders and colleagues across GSA, advising on financial performance, evaluating discrepancies and identifying measures to promote successful financial management. The role will also support the preparation of annual financial statements and external audit, fixed asset accounting, income accounting and the further development and maintenance of financial structures.
We are looking for a qualified or semi qualified accountant who is making substantial progress toward finishing their professional certification. You will have experience of supporting institutional budgets and creating regular management accounts including assessing variations and anticipating year-end outturns. Excellent Excel abilities and understanding of enterprise finance systems and financial reporting tools is necessary. Experience in the education or public sector and expertise of Unit4 / Agresso, Excelerator and / or SQL would be advantageous.
You’ll be a self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and workload effectively, work collaboratively and speak with confidence to colleagues at all levels. Importantly, you will be able to communicate financial information and concepts well to non-financial managers and provide constructive financial advice to help them make decisions.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement strategic sales programs to grow market share in the fire and security industry with a focus on B2B (business-to-business) clients.
Lead, motivate and manage a high performing sales team and cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Build and maintain good connections with major clients, comprehending their goals and providing specialised security solutions to meet their safety needs.
Use Salesforce or other CRM solutions to track leads, manage customer relationships, anticipate sales, and analyse pipeline data to inform business strategies.
Conduct market research to uncover emerging trends, competitive landscape and new business prospects for fire detection systems, alarm solutions, access control, CCTV surveillance and integrated security systems.
Liaise with technical teams to verify that bids are technically sound, compliant with industry norms, and competitively priced.
Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility and new prospects.
The postholder will join the facilities and estates management team and will share responsibility for delivering safe and compliant electrical/mechanical/plumbing and building fabric services to all the Trust buildings. This role requires direct line management of a team of trade personnel to provide a safe and compliant hospital space for all patients, visitors and staff; ensuring compliance and governance with all Trust standards and procedures as well as HTM’s, HBN’s, British Standards and good practice.
The role to which you are applying is attached to the Trust’s clinical services North, South Services. However, the postholder will be required to work closely with other managers and cover sites as required for the business.
Position responsibilities
The following are some of the key responsibilities of the postholder:
Oversee and inspect engineering and building services and systems.
Advising on all mechanical, electrical and building fabric services and systems in respect of any issue areas, non-compliance with statutory or mandatory rules and hazards to business continuity.
Identify backlog maintenance issues and establish plans for rolling maintenance strategy/ scheduled maintenance program
To Manage the delivery of small / minor works in a cost effective and safe manner
mode of communication with the relevant departments as and when needed.
Conduct and supervise audits and site visits to review information and physical buildings/plant to ensure compliance with contract requirements and Trust standards.
Monitor standards of workmanship by contractors and directly employed staff and take required remedial measures.
Conduct meetings of the chairs and lead negotiations with internal customers and external suppliers.
Manage in-house workers in accordance with Trust policies.
Regular liaison with Estates workers, high management and clinical staff. Establish good relationships with site and ward administration within the network in an effort to resolve any concerns that may develop or to provide help as soon as possible.
Make sure estates jobs are updated in the system and jobs are progressing with the services. Keep services informed of progress and deadlines.

TSD is looking for a talented manager to join our senior team to take TSD forward thru the next stage of our evolution.
This role is a key member of the TSD management team and will be a key liaison role between TSD and the Innovation School (each technical manager is assigned a school) The role will be responsible for managing a group of workshop teams across Printmaking, Silversmithing & Jewellery, Casting, the Makerspace team and the Forres technical team.
You will be able to create relationships across the school at all levels, be a clear communicator and have experience managing and developing complex teams, as well as an awareness of the numerous procedures utilised within TSD, their associated health and safety hazards and the student expectations of TSD. Some travel to our highland campus in Forres will be necessary.
