Duty Worker – UK Visa Sponsorship Available

Complete Job Description

Are you trying to find a way to begin working with vulnerable adults?

Duty Workers have several options to participate in two of our wonderful services. You may play a significant part in helping St. Mungo’s customers while gaining useful knowledge and expertise.

Where are you going to work?

Adamson Road is a 24-hour supported living program that offers 21 homeless adults with mental health support needs who are 25 years of age or older a secure and encouraging environment. Our goal is to enable people to acquire the abilities, self-assurance, and independence required to successfully maintain their tenancy and prosper in the neighbourhood.

Islington Council has commissioned high-needs supportive housing services at Court Gardens and Barnsbury Road. Barnsbury Road can accommodate up to 21 persons in mixed-gender housing, while Court Gardens can accommodate and support up to 12 adult men. Although many clients also have other difficulties, such as substance abuse and physical health issues, mental health is the main support requirement for both agencies. Both services are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, offering clients round-the-clock assistance to support rehabilitation, foster wellbeing, and help them acquire the skills necessary to live independently.

Working as a Duty Worker is a fantastic way to hone your abilities in helping clients with various or complicated problems, such as mental health and substance abuse. Our goal is to assist those who have recently been homeless or who may be experiencing long-term homelessness by helping them build the networks, abilities, and self-assurance necessary to live independently in the community.

In these positions, you will collaborate with other team members to oversee the project’s safe daily operations and offer clients basic assistance and guidance.

As part of the hiring process, candidates will be evaluated for all positions; but, if asked to an interview, they may express a preference for a specific service.

About You

Many current managers began their careers as Duty Workers, therefore these are excellent positions for those wishing to advance in the industry. Furthermore, you will have:

  • Good communication skills and some experience working directly with the public, clients, or customers in a hectic service setting.
  • Having firsthand knowledge of homelessness and/or empathy for the problems experienced by those who are homeless or in precarious housing.
  • a sincere desire to assist others in need in changing their lives for the better and a readiness to acquire these important abilities.

St. Mungo’s is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Applications from all under-represented communities are highly encouraged.

In compliance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act of 2006, successful candidates will have to present proof of their eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

Our goal at St. Mungo’s is for everyone to be able to achieve their goals and have a place to call home.
