Job Description
We are looking for a caring and professional Live-in Carer to deliver outstanding assistance and bespoke care to clients in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care and geriatric care, with a heavy focus on improving the quality of life of those in need. The employment offers the opportunity to engage directly with people requiring specialist support such as dementia, Alzheimer’s and hospice care to ensure their safety, comfort and dignity at all times. The role requires living on site with the client, providing flexible and responsive care to individual needs.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care services including but not limited to bathing, clothing, and mobility help.
Administer medications accurately according to specified timings.
Cook healthy meals to meet dietary needs and tastes.
Assist clients with daily living activities including light housekeeping and laundry.
Manage conduct well, particularly where dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is present.
Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance mental health.
Assist with ambulation and transfers, including heavy lifting as required.
Safely transport people to appointments, outings, etc., as needed.
Monitor your health status and report any concerns to healthcare specialists as soon as possible.
Keep accurate records of care provided and any change in condition.
Requirements
Hands on experience in assisted living, patient care or home care settings.
Knowledge of nursing home operations, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care and behaviour management.
First aid certificate or training is extremely desirable.
Valid driving licence for transport duties.
Can safely carry hefty weights and help with mobility.
Great organisational abilities with the capacity to appropriately handle medication schedules.
Excellent communication skills with a caring temperament.
Open to site living and working flexible hours as required by customer needs.
