About This Role
We are searching for a talented Senior Backend Developer with great experience in Java and Spring Boot to design and develop scalable, secure and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise working on large scale digital platforms, and experience working in a public sector or standards driven environment such as GDS aligned projects.
Principal Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain backend applications using Java (8/11/17+) and Spring Boot
Design and maintain API and microservices architecture (RESTful)
Work with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps and product stakeholders
Write clean, maintainable and testable code and follow best practices
Keep your application performant, scalable and secure.
Participate in system design and architectural decisions
Build CI/CD pipelines and engage in deployments
Perform code reviews and mentor junior team members
£70,000-£80,000 + 10% Bonus + Fully Remote + Private Medical

Role Description

Main Responsibilities
Design and build backend systems utilizing Java (8/11/17+) and Spring Boot
Design and build scalable microservices architecture
Own technological design, architecture and system integration
Mentor and guide the backend development team
Collaborate with product managers, architects, devops and stakeholders
Adhere to code standards, security practices and performance benchmarks
Adopt CI/CD, automation, and DevOps best practices
Review code, control technical debt, ensure quality standards
