Position Summary
We are seeking to appoint an experienced occupational therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Service at Glangwilli General Hospital, Carmarthen Carmarthenshire.
Working as part of a defined team you will give an occupational therapy treatment to clients with diseases such as respiratory, cardiac and frailty. Your role is to help the occupational therapist provide what important to the patient so that they can be rehabilitated and discharged home from hospital. Sometimes you may be expected to do outreach after release. The role will also involve assisting with team operations, responding to queries correctly and carrying out administrative duties relating to the role, such as data entry and audits.
You will join a supportive team who will give learning opportunities, formal and informal supervision.
The occupational therapy team works together with colleagues from Health, Local Authorities and Third Sector Organisations to produce best outcomes for the client group.
Main duties of the role
Work as part of a designated team to provide an occupational therapy service to improve the health & wellbeing of people, as delegated by occupational therapists.
Deliver the service in a manner and in an environment appropriate to the needs of the client group, along with the approved norms, procedures, policies and care pathways.
Under instruction and assistance supplied by the occupational therapist, provide a service to a selected client group.
Work in partnership with colleagues from Health, Local Authorities and Third Sector Organisations to deliver the best outcomes.
Support the operation of the support team.
The job holder will be required to travel throughout Carmarthenshire.
This function may need the provision of a flexible 7 day service, based on service need.
