Accounts Assistant Responsibilities | UK Accounting Jobs
Main duties
Help get ready the monthly management accounts
Do bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Help with accounts payable and receivable processes
Help with VAT returns and following the rules set by HMRC
Keep your financial records and ledgers up to date.
Help with year-end finances and getting ready for an audit
Process journals, payments that have already been made, and payments that are due
If needed, help with processing payroll (PYE).
Use QuickBooks for your accounting work.
Accounts Assistant Requirements | UK Jobs for Graduates & Experienced
What you need
AAT qualified or partially qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or anything similar
Experience as an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant in the past
A lot of understanding of UK VAT rules and accounting requirements
Good at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks and Sage…
Very good at paying attention to details and analysing things
Great at organising and managing time.
Additional Skills (Preferred)
Skills that are useful.
Experience with payroll and PYE submissions
Getting used to processes at the end of the month and the end of the year
You should be able to work alone and with others.
