What the job is about
Title: Manager of Hiring and Training
In charge of: Area Manager and Directors
The office is at Cary Lodge Care Home, Palermo Road, Torquay.TQ1 3NW, the training site is in Torquay and at all four care facilities at Cary Park, Torquay. TQ1.
Hours of work: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with some work on weekends and evenings.
In charge of:
HR recruiting systems, such as managing the Sponsor Licence and Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS), workforce development, mandatory and statutory training, learning and development, and making sure that people are following the rules for a workforce of more than 100 staff members who provide care and support to older people across the organisation, many of whom have dementia.
What the Role Is For
The Recruitment & Training Manager is in charge of making sure that the organization’s people practices, training systems, and workforce development follow all laws, CQC rules, and best practices under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and any other laws and best practices that apply.
The job includes managing the organization’s Government Sponsor License and Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) and making sure that all Home Office rules and ethical hiring standards are followed. This entails keeping accurate records, helping sponsored workers, and working with Directors, the Area Manager, and Home Managers to make sure that visa requirements and reporting duties are completed.
The Recruitment & Training Manager will also be in charge of developing the workforce, making sure that everyone gets the training they need, and making sure that everyone is following the rules. This will support a large staff team that provides high-quality care to older people, many of whom have dementia.
The job involves both strategic HR leadership and hands-on training delivery. This makes sure that staff at all facilities are competent, confident, compliant, and values-driven, with a focus on providing high-quality dementia care.
The person in this job will work closely with the Area Manager, Home Managers, and Directors to:
Find out what hazards your workers face, what training they need, and what HR tasks are most important.
Create, teach, and assess training and development programs
Keep staffing safe, supervision strong, and people systems working well.
Encourage a culture that is in line with the organization’s ideals.

The bookkeeper must work on site and have familiarity with Xero accounting and payroll. Working for yourself 1.5 days a week of part-time work
This is a job at a small nursing home. Must have at least 10 years of expertise with bookkeeping, Xero accounts, and payroll, as well as a good understanding of how accounting works.
Staying on top of things and fulfilling deadlines.
Some of the things you will have to do are:
Processing sales, purchases, and nominal ledgers to distribute payments.
Bringing together customer, bank, and petty cash accounts.
Making monthly management accounts and occupancy levels, including year-end accruals
Processing payroll and pensions and taxes (50 people on payroll)
Calculating timesheets using contracts
Talking to both clients, HMRC, Nest Pensions, and accountants.
Sending bills to suppliers and debtors and following up with them.
Working with managers and directors as needed
It would be best if you had worked in a nursing home before.
Hours should be about 1.5 days a week.
