About the UK Volunteer Programme 2026

You’ll get full introductory training, acquire recognised certificates in a variety of activities, and learn useful skills in areas including event organising, catering, retail, customer service, and hospitality.
Scout Adventures UK Volunteer Programme 2026
Scout Adventure has two kinds of volunteering programs:
Option 1: UK Volunteer Trainee Instructor Program (Only for UK Residents)
You can join an amazing team that gives thousands of young people great experiences through this program. You’ll be an important part of the 2026 adventure, and you’ll be able to learn and contribute a lot of new skills while being with a group of helpful volunteers. People who apply from the UK will take part in an exciting 11-month program of challenges.
Option 2: Residential Volunteer Program (UK & International Applicants)
This program gives you the option to join the great Scout Adventure team, which gives thousands of young people unforgettable experiences. You’ll be a big part of the 2026 team story, and you’ll be able to learn and teach a lot of new skills while being around our family of volunteers. People from the UK, Europe, and all over the world can apply for either a 6-month or 10-month program.
Who Can Apply for the UK Volunteer Programme 2026?
People from the UK and all over the world who are at least 18 years old;
You’ll need to have a lot of energy, a positive mindset, and be willing to be outside in the British weather;
Can talk to people in English well;
work about 40 hours a week (across 5 days, including evenings and weekends), with up to 23 days off during the placement;
You don’t need any unique talents or educational programs to apply.
Costs and Benefits of UK Volunteering with Visa Sponsorship
Live on-site with other residential volunteers from all around the world, with all meals and uniforms paid for.
A weekly allowance of £45 plus payment for direct costs for the Residential Volunteer program; and a weekly allowance of £35 plus payment for direct costs for the UK Volunteer Trainee Instructor Program
Get hundreds of hours of hands-on experience teaching youth groups and learning how the facility works.
Work with other volunteers from more than 30 countries and make friends from all around the world.
A whole training on how to teach, give first aid, protect people, provide good customer service, and more.
UK Visa Sponsorship Details for Volunteers (UK Volunteer Programme 2026)
If you don’t have a UK passport, you’ll need to apply for a UK visa and pay for it based on the type of visa you need.
Visa for Tier 5 Charity Workers. You will have to pay about £319 for this.
Immigration Health Surcharge: This is part of your visa application and costs about £1035. You only have to pay it if your placement is for more than six months.
TB test certificate: Not all nations need this, so you’ll need to verify. The price of this also varies by country, so you’ll need to check that as well.

A letter from your National Scout/Guide Organisation confirming your membership (only needed if you’re a current Scout or Guide)
