What you do

You will help your team reach the overall operational, performance, and service standard goals for your area of work. You will help move cases through the court and tribunal system and help with administrative tasks within HMCTS. You will regularly talk to people who use the court or tribunal, which could include judges and lawyers.

You will be flexible, able to do more than one thing at once, and able to do a range of tasks well, such as:

  • Getting ready for court, tribunals, hearings, and meetings by making paperwork and files
  • Making and updating records on our computer system at work and entering data
  • Correctly reading the information needed on a court filing and getting the right results
  • Checking and confirming documents, records, accounts, claims, and returns for approval, results, statistics, plans, and so on against rules, standards, or processes
  • Gathering and putting together information for returns, results, accounts, statements, warrants, statistical analysis, reports, and so on
  • Talking to the public, the courts, other court and tribunal users, and people from other agencies and organisations

You know how to deal with concerns in a way that is helpful and get things done on time when they need to be fixed. You know how important it is to follow health and safety rules, IT/workstation rules, and to report any problems with court facilities to the HMCTS Estates teams.

The person who holds this job will be part of the Occupation Health Administration team and will do general administrative tasks to help the Operational Team offer a comprehensive range of occupational health services.

You will be responsible for making appointments and answering phone calls and reception support.

The department is busy, so the person who holds the position must be able to do more than one thing at a time and deal with interruptions. The person in this position will be overseen and will have to cooperate with other administrative workers as part of a support team.

Please be aware of our sites and that you may need to help any of them in the shared service depending on service demands.

In-person interviews will all take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

The job’s main responsibilities

  • To handle phone conversations and face-to-face interactions with clients and internal and external agencies in a professional and appropriate way
  • Getting management referrals, combining them with client notes, and setting up appointments
