Participate in our residential or trainee volunteering programs in the UK and explore an exciting and challenging outdoor environment! Imagine yourself zip-lining, kayaking, and abseiling while encouraging young people to acquire lifelong skills.

It’s not only about the excitement; you’ll also develop your leadership and teamwork abilities, make friends for life, and add a list of life-altering adventures to your resume. Furthermore, nothing compares to the excitement you get when you help a young child overcome their worries. Complete introductory training will be provided, along with recognised credentials in a variety of activities and the acquisition of critical skills in retail, catering, hospitality, event planning, customer service, and many other areas. We will cover your personal expenditures, lodging, meals, and uniform. You will need to provide a lot of energy, a good outlook, and a willingness to be outside in the wonderful British weather in exchange!

Applications are invited from the UK, Europe, and beyond, and there are only a few spots available.

We provide two avenues for residential volunteering:

Option 1 (available to UK candidates only): Volunteer Trainee Instructor Program

This program gives you the opportunity to join our incredible team in providing thousands of young people with life-changing experiences. Amidst our volunteer family, you will have the chance to teach and acquire a tonne of new skills while playing a significant role in our 2025/2026 tale.

Scouts and guides from all throughout the United Kingdom are encouraged to apply! The period for placements is September 2025–September 2026.

Option 2: Residential Volunteer Program (UK and international applicants)

This program gives you the opportunity to join our incredible team in providing thousands of young people with life-changing experiences. Amidst our volunteer family, you will have the chance to teach and learn a tonne of new skills while playing a significant role in our 2026 story.

Applications are encouraged from the UK, Europe, and beyond. In 2026, placements take place between January and November.

2. Human Aid & Advocacy 

More than a volunteer

In addition to being “Volunteers,” those who give up their time and effort to help our survivors are Ambassadors who support the causes we fight for.

You are ambassadors at Human Aid & Advocacy, and with your help, we can:

Raise awareness: Spreading the word about our cause and message to a larger audience.

Encourage sacrifice: By working hard and giving up your time, you enable our Ummah to provide donations to our survivors.

Learn: From your energy, new ideas, viewpoints, and insightful observations.

3. CMC Adventure

Since CMC Adventure’s founding in 1966, volunteers have played a significant role in the organization’s vision and goals. In addition to providing the additional hands and feet required each season to keep the centre operating efficiently, volunteers genuinely improve what we can offer our visitors.

On the staff team, there are two different kinds of volunteer positions.

Volunteer Trainee Instructors

An opportunity to volunteer that will help you launch a career in the outdoors while also supporting a Christian charity and helping others through CMC Adventure’s life-changing work! This is a fantastic chance for motivated Christians who are at least 18 years old to become part of our team for two years. At the end of the two years, the program seeks to equip you with the knowledge and credentials necessary to find employment as an outdoor instructor. It involves immersing you in every facet of centre life.

Hospitality and Catering Volunteers

We would also love to hear from those of you who are more interested in the catering and hospitality aspects of things!

We have an additional set of hands to assist in the buildings and kitchens thanks to our hospitality and catering volunteers. The kind folks that volunteer their time to help with food preparation, cleanup, and dishwashing are beyond words. A small amount of assistance goes a long way in this behind-the-scenes position, which most significantly demonstrates to our guests God’s love.

The primary responsibilities of the position include keeping the centres clean and organised while groups are visiting, supporting the cooks in the kitchens, and assisting with guest preparation. Savour the thrill that comes from knowing that you are positively impacting someone’s day!

We will provide you all the training you need to perform the duties of a volunteer in hospitality and catering. Additionally, you will be able to spend time in a stunning setting that is encircled by mountains and only a short distance from the ocean. If you want to, there will also be chances to walk outside and take part in some of the events.

We are very busy from March to October, so any additional assistance is greatly welcomed.

2. Baptist Union of Wales – Mission Workers to Wales

Wales, like much of Western Europe, has welcomed missionaries from abroad to assist the local church in its missionary work since it was realised that Wales could now be regarded as a mission field.

The Baptist Union of Wales has acknowledged this by answering international questions about the potential advantages of mission collaborations. To link mission workers from outside the UK with possible initiatives in areas where churches cannot afford ministry and mission.

They have now successfully registered with UK Visas & Immigration to sponsor both Tier 2 (Minister of Religion) and Tier 5 (Religious Workers) workers from outside the UK with the consent of BUW Trustees. Careful oversight is necessary to guarantee that any employees supported to collaborate with the BUW are aware of the Welsh background and culture.

3. Corbenic Camphill Community – Volunteer (tier 5 visa)

In addition to having a great experience visiting Scotland, you will have the chance to meet like-minded young people from Europe and beyond! An encounter that will change and improve your life!

Here at Corbenic, we have a diverse range of countries, and they prefer to think of us as a miniature United Nations!
How can I submit an application?​

Accommodations

You will receive complete board and lodging as a live-in volunteer, albeit you might have to share a room with another volunteer. You will get a minimal subsistence allowance and have two days off every week.

​You will be allowed to use the volunteer car as long as you are at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license that allows you to drive in the UK for the past 12 months. After obtaining tuition, you will need to pass an evaluation with a certified driving instructor in order to be eligible to drive the vehicle.

How can I apply for a visa (tier 5 visa)?

They want you to promise to be with the organization for a year. This will allow you to become used to the local way of life, build self-esteem and confidence in your skills, and make lasting friendships.

• You must apply for a “Temporary T5-Charity Worker Visa” if you are travelling from outside.
• The current price is £259.
• They can help and mentor you during the application process and sponsor your visa application.
• A £1035 “Immigration Health Surcharge” must be paid with your visa application.

International Volunteer Program: Tier 5 Visa (Charity Worker Visa) for the United Kingdom

Description of the Role

Their International Volunteering Program (IVP) gives candidates the chance to develop transferable skills like organisation, communication, and teamwork—all of which are critical in any professional workplace—while also giving them firsthand experience in the day-to-day operations of an international non-governmental organisation.

As volunteer Processing Support Officers at our Processing Centre in Canterbury, interns enrolled in their IVP program do a range of duties in the following teams: The team responsible for processing, sorting, and packing donated materials; the sales team for the charity shop, which values and lists donated books, DVDs, and other items for sale; the tech refurbishing team, which refurbishes, values, and lists donated electrical equipment; and the fundraising and marketing team, which carries out grant applications and content creation. Additionally, candidates have the chance to finish a variety of role-related trainings and seminars.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the IVP program, applicants must fulfil the following requirements:

• Age: To apply, candidates must be at least eighteen years old. The application will require your date of birth.
• Language: Candidates must speak, read, and write English with ease. During the application process, a personal statement in English will be needed. Those that make it through the application process will also be asked to participate in a video interview.
• Volunteering Experience: Candidates must have prior volunteer work experience. During the application process, a resume and a recommendation letter from their volunteer employer or a Books2Africa Ambassador (a past IVP or sponsor) will be needed.
• Immigration History: Applicants are required to disclose their dependents, travel history, and whether they have previously had their visa to the UK denied.

The Cost of Living

The IVP program is a voluntary, unpaid position. Candidates must demonstrate that they have one of the following living expense plans in place:

• Living with a host: When applying, candidates who plan to live with a host (a friend, family, etc.) must include the following information:
  The host’s complete address and phone number in the Canterbury/Kent region.
  The host’s letter of support confirming that they are willing to host the candidate for the duration of the program.
  A utility bill with the host’s name and address or a council tax notice serve as proof of address.
• Living in rented housing: When submitting an application, candidates who plan to rent housing must include the following information:
  A bank statement in your name that demonstrates the £3,500 in available money for your six-month utility and housing payments serves as proof of finances.

The Procedure for Applications

Every year, from November 1 to November 30, the IVP program’s online application form becomes available. After being interviewed in December, qualified candidates receive a COS in January, allowing them to apply for a visa and start the 12-month program in March.

Notice of Application: Applications for the 2025 batch are now being accepted. On December 1st, we will assess applications and get in touch with candidates to let them know if they have been selected for an interview or if their application was not accepted.
